Post Production Supervisor and Editor

Switchback Entertainment is currently looking for a post production supervisor and editor to work from the Switchback studio in Whistler, BC. Switchback specializes in outdoor and action sports storytelling along with a steady schedule of commercial work. Applicants should have experience telling stories in a documentary style as well as have a strong visual or cinematic aesthetic. Extensive experience editing in Premiere Pro is a must. Motion graphics experience in After Effects and color correction skills in DaVinci Resolve are a bonus. Experience on films or projects that have been accepted to film festivals is an advantage, as is mainstream commercial post production experience.

The main roles of the post production supervisor and editor will be to organize media and equipment between shoots, ensure media is properly backed up, arrange media inside Premiere Pro and oversee stock footage requests and deliverables. Editing tasks will range from preliminary edits of a project to hand off to others on the team, to taking a project from beginning to picture lock. Other tasks may include sourcing and licencing music, editing social media deliverables, creating motion graphics elements in After Effects and color grading in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

Applicants should be self motivated as they will work independently during times of high production. There may be opportunities to join the crew in the field, but a vast majority of the tasks required will be in the studio. Applicants should be a resident of Canada, or have a valid work permit for at least 1 year, and live in the Sea to Sky corridor.
